A group of 8 young chefs-to-be and waiters-to-be students from France (Lille area) is due to arrive in Edinburgh on 28 February for a 1 month long work experience in some of Scottish capital's best restaurants.
We are still looking for some Edinburgh host families to accommodate them. The allocated fee for that is £26 per student and per night (ending 27 March). We would be keen to get them accommodated in pairs, but this is not compulsory.
The students (17-19 years old) come from an independent school specializing in the hospitality sector. They are all very well-mannered and will be mentored by an Edinburgh based team and their French tutor, staying in Scotland for the all duration of the work experience.
As this project is all about exchanges (and gastronomy), on top of the accommodation fee, we also treat host families to a lunch at the restaurant "their" students are working in! Hosts do not need to be francophone – even though being francophile surely helps, but all Scottish families are anyway, aren't they?
